toptentuesday

I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve done a Top Ten Tuesday post. Mainly because I’ve been stressed and busy these past couple of months and many of the topics I haven’t been able to do.

Today I thought I’d share some of my favorite bookish related websites that I frequent whenever I’m looking for more books to read, to see what books others are talking about, organizing books, and where to buy more books.

Goodreads

An obvious one, but if you haven’t heard or used Goodreads, you should definitely check it out. It’s one of the easiest ways to organize books you’ve read and want to read and also for looking for more to read. I’ll be honest and say it has some flaws, which I’ll probably discuss someday, but I still would recommend it for book bloggers especially.

Just going to throw in my Goodreads profile here, please follow me if you want to see my reading activity (sometimes I’m slow on updating my status though lol).

Book Riot

This is a great resource for book lovers for finding new books. I’ve discovered many from this website. They have some interesting and thoughtful discussion posts as well. They also do some amazing giveaways for new releases, gift cards for bookstores, and more. There’s also the Book Riot Read Harder Challenge that they do every year, if you want to challenge yourself. I’m currently participating but I still have a ways to go before I complete it.

eReaderIQ.com

I recently discovered this and it’s SO USEFUL. This is a website that tracks Kindle Price deals. You can track whatever book you want and whenever the price for it goes down, it’ll alert you by email. I’ve gotten a couple of good deals on books I’ve been wanting recently. I’d recommend this because I’ve figured out that Amazon doesn’t alert you to EVERY book that has a deal.

Book Outlet

I LOVE Book Outlet. They sell new conditions books for cheap prices. I’ve gone overboard at times with the number of books I get, but they are all at such great prices, so how can I refuse?? Sometimes the shipping can be slow depending on where you live, but nevertheless, the books are always in good condition.

Netgalley + Edelweiss

Okay so it may be a bit of a stretch to call these my favorites because I haven’t gotten that much use out of either of these yet. NetGalley is the only one where I’ve been approved for ARCs so far. But I still think these are some important websites for book bloggers/reviewers if you are wanting to read ARCs. Plus it’s helped me add some more books to my TBR.

Bookperk

This is yet another Kindle Price deals email alert thing. As I said before, Amazon doesn’t let you know everything that is at a discount price, so I have found this to be useful as well. This is a daily one, so I’d only recommend this if you are okay with them spamming your emails everyday.

LGBTQReads

This is a very valuable and resourceful WordPress blog that I think is great for finding more LGBTQ+ books. Highly recommend this. They also have interviews with some of the authors about the representation in these books.

RightStuf

This is a recent website I’ve discovered to get my manga. They sell at lower prices than most bookstores and even Amazon. They recently has a huge sale on a series. I highly recommend this for manga readers!

Twitter

Yes, I know Twitter isn’t entirely about books, but there’s a whole community for books on Twitter that I’ve discovered and really enjoy. I’ve found many great book recommendations on Twitter through people I follow and see. It’s also a good place to discuss books and book related topics.

WordPress & Other Blogging Websites

  1. I just recently made a twitter account for my blog (and by recently I mean literally two days ago) and I’m loving it so far. The bookish community is so huge and I had no idea what I was missing out on! So glad I decided to give it a shot 🙂
