I’m back at it with some favorite blog posts. I know it’s been a while but I’ve been wanting to start these posts back up because they’re my most favorite to write up.
AUTISM ACCEPTANCE MONTH
It was Autism Acceptance Month in April and here’s some bloggers that talked about autistic representation in books and some recommendations posts for books featuring positive rep.
Becca’s Book Realm wrote up an eloquent and thoughtful post about good and bad examples of autism rep and gave some good recommendations. I think this post is something many people should keep in mind when reading books featuring autistic characters, especially if you are not autistic. Always look for #ownvoices autistic reviewers.
I know for myself it’s been a difficult journey in finding my voice for my blog and it’s still a work in progress for me. If you’re in the same predicament as myself you should check out Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books post about to be your best blogging self. Filled with helpful tips and positivity.
DISCUSSIONS + MISC.
Biblio Nyan wrote a personal and sentimental post about how libraries helped with treating their mental health and just the power of libraries as self-care. A powerful post that resonated with myself and hopefully others find this post to be so impactful.
Aurora @ Aurora Librialis is starting a little series of post called The Female Gaze Project which will engage with and highlight stories about women, created by women in a series of blog posts. and for her first post she discusses Mothers and Daughters. Just a brilliantly articulate and insightful post. I can’t wait to read more of this series.
